Gigabye T1125 convertible tablet goes through the paces at the FCC

Remember the days when the tablet device didn’t really catch on unlike today, with the iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab going head to head in what could very well be a fierce battle? Well, this might mean the death knell for the convertible tablet market, but Gigabyte isn’t about to throw in the towel just yet. No sir, the company has just shipped off their Gigabyte T1125 convertible tablet to the FCC, where it will be powered by an Intel Pentium ULV processor with Windows 7 as the operating system of choice.

Other features include 11.6-inch screen at 1366 x 768 resolution, HDMI out and an optional 3G modem just in case you want to remain connected from wherever you are, although it remains to be seen just which carrier is going to offer a data plan to go along with it. Apart from all that, the T1125 also sports NVIDIA’s battery-preserving Optimus Technology which is smart enough to switch between the tablet’s GeForce 310M and integrated Intel GPUs, depending on the task at hand. No idea on pricing or availability as at press time though, but it shouldn’t be too long in coming now.
