AFK – Away From Keyboard, is an acronym that most computer savvy users are familiar with, but it brings a new meaning this time around with a spanking new Kinect hack that allows one to play World of Warcraft sans a keyboard. This is actually a software layer that is built over your Kinect, built over OpenNI, where it will recognize a skeleton and enable around 20 different motions to be mapped to key presses. Imagine leaning forward to walk, raising your right arm to perform an action, while sitting down to stay stationary in the game when you’re tired of all that movement. Hopefully more progress can be seen in versions higher than the current on (version .03), but good thing it is free for the curious to try out.
