Adobe drops hint of Android 3.1 – and removes it

While we all know that Android Honeycomb won’t stay at version 3.0 forever, Adobe has been the first to drop a hint about the next version of the mobile operating system. It was reported that In the change log of their most recent update for Adobe Flash Player on Android, they state: “Hardware accelerated video presentation (requires Android 3.1)” and “Enhanced browser integration for Honeycomb tablets (requires Android 3.1)”. But a recent check of the change log shows that Adobe has removed references to Android 3.1 and instead replaced it with “an upcoming release of Android 3”.

Now we’re not sure if it was a typo, or it was a mistake they made in revealing the next version of Android a little too early, but slip-ups aside – we’ll be getting hardware accelerated Flash video and enhanced browser integration, which is great news. Now all we have to do is wait for Google to update Android Honeycomb before we can experience it – and we can’t wait.
