The Erebus gaming desktop is the new Super Star Destroyer in iBUYPOWER’s world – that means a new flagship machine for the company, just in case you aren’t a huge Star Wars fan. Designed from the ground up, iBUYPOWER engineers have specially thrown in liquid cooling so that you will be able to overclock it to your heart’s content, and the name Erebus itself intends to cast a dark shadow over the rest of its competition. As to what you will find underneath the hood, there are four radiators (three 240mm “Dual” and one 480mm “Quad” radiator) alongside a 13mm high flow tubing that pumps out 4.5 gallons per minute of cooling liquid so that the Erebus’ rugged steel chassis remains ice cold even under high performance conditions.

This is touted to be one smartly designed case that creates a unidirectional air flow, helping the cooling system achive a maximum rated heat dissipation of 3,400w of heat – this is interesting trivia, as that figure is more than the average home refrigerator, lighting, microwave and window unit air conditioner combined. Don’t worry about leakage since compression fittings will alleviate such concerns, while a front panel level meter that combines with a top panel reservoir access will make it easy to maintain.

Pricing starts from $1,249 onwards depending on what you decide to stuff this turkey with – we are talking about highest-quality components from Intel, ASUS, Koolance, and Corsair amongst others, with the ability to hold up to half a dozen hard drives, four video cards (!), 24GB RAM, USB 3.0 connectivity and eSATA support.
