Digital health is an important trend in mobile technology nowadaysand we have seen a significant increase in investments in the past year. Intuit acquired health  portal MedFusion over a year ago , and today, Intuit Health is going mobile with the launch of two applications: Mobile Inbox and iPad Patient Check-in.

Mobile Inbox will allow the 4 million users of the Intuit Health Patient Portal to communicate better with their doctors while  on-the-go. People will be able to make appointments, get labs results or pay their co-pay right from their mobile devices. Mobile Inbox is expected to be available mid 2012.

iPad Patient Check-In is an application that replaces the paper clipboard patient registration process. It works with the Intuit card scanner (see video demo below) which will be able to read drivers licenses to automatically populate the form on screen. The updated card scanner and the application are still under development, the solution is expected to be available mid 2012.
