Sony Android Walkman Z Series will be launched in Japan

The Sony Android Walkman was debuted at IFA over a week ago, but it looks like more details surrounding the device, along with pricing and availability have finally emerged. The device is now official and has been given the moniker “Walkman Z Series”, and for now it looks like it will only be available in the Japanese market.

The device will be running on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 and will come in three different sizes – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. It will feature a 4.3” WVGA display and will be sporting a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor under the hood, as well as the ability to playback 1080p quality videos at a bitrate of up to 10Mbps.

It also supports DLNA which means you should be able to stream content to other DLNA devices such as HDTVs. The Walkman Z Series is expected to hit the Japanese market come 10th of December and will be priced at ¥28,000 ($364) for the 16GB model, ¥33,000 ($429) for the 32GB model, and ¥43,000 ($559) for the 64GB model.
