Sprint to end unlimited mobile broadband and hotspot plans

Sprint logoIf there ever was a time where you would bid farewell to unlimited mobile broadband and hotspot plans from Sprint, October 31st would be the perfect day to do so. Why, you ask? Well, we just have gotten word from Sprint that they will be officially axing both plans from November this year onwards, where data sent and received over tethering will have a 5GB cap. Bear in mind that this does not include smartphone usage, and mobile broadband subscribers too will be affected – so kiss goodbye to “unlimited” WiMax.

Should you max out your current plan, you might end up with a bill shock at the end of the month as well since each MB after that will cost you $0.05. To rub more salt into your wounds, current unlimited plans will not be grandfathered in.
