US judge dismisses some of Apple’s patent infringement claims against Samsung

For those following the whole patent war drama between Apple and Samsung are probably aware that Apple seems to be catching more breaks than Samsung. They have had successful injunctions against Samsung in various parts of the world, and Samsung’s had their requests for injunctions turned down. However it looks like things may start to look up for Samsung as a US judge has dismissed some of Apple’s patent infringement claims against Samsung.

Apple had initially claimed in the US courts that Samsung misinterpreted its intent to license certain patents, and these claims were dismissed by US District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California. However this doesn’t necessary mean that Samsung is in the clear or is any closer to a victory. According to the judge, Apple may amend their complaint and reattempt to revive their claims, but for now it looks like Samsung is in the lead ever so slightly.
