YouSendit: New Apps for iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac

YousenditI have been using YouSendit for a while now, for sending very large files (up to 2 GB!) over the internet when my email client could not handle it. The key feature is the ability to send files very quickly without login in – there is a 50 MB limit for the free version and you can only send one file or zip folder at a time.

In July, the company released additional features including the ability to share folders, to perform electronic signatures and to sync mobile and desktop applications. You do not need to be a registered user to receive a  file over email (via a link for download) or to be able to read a file stored in a shared folder.

Today, Yousendit launched new applications for iPad, Android and Mac (in beta). Basically, you can send large files and get DropBox and Docusign in a single application with a user friendly user interface. Check the screen shots in the complete article.

According to the company, the application is secure, the content is encrypted both in transit and while at rest on YouSendIt servers. Files stored on mobile devices are encrypted and protected via a passcode.

YouSendIt’s iPad, iPhone and Android apps are available for download in the Apple App Store and Android Market. Windows and Mac desktop apps are available from the YouSendIt website. For pricing, check the plans page on the website.
