Most, if not all World of Warcraft players have probably updated to version 4.3. Well the bad (or good news depending on how you look at it) news is that it looks like 4.3 will be the last version of the game, at least until Blizzard’s upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, the Mists of Pandaria, has been released. This was revealed by lead quest designer Dave Kosak who felt that “4.3 is already Cataclysm’s climax”.

In a way we guess this could be good news as it might indicate that Blizzard could be closer to launching the Mists of Pandaria expansion although no specific release date was mentioned. However based on Blizzard’s previous release schedules of expansions of every two years (give or take a few months), it would not be a stretch to imagine that the Mists of Pandaria expansion could be arriving some time in late 2012.

In the mean time it looks like 4.3 will indeed be the last update (we’re guessing bug fixes and balancing updates will not be counted) until then. So World of Warcraft players, it seems that you guys will have a good few months to get a raid together and start farming for some top tiered gear, at least until Mists of Pandaria comes out and it all becomes irrelevant again.
