Google Chrome for Windows 8 Metro UI also in development

Chrome logoIf you’re planning to use Windows 8, it looks like you won’t have to be stuck using Internet Explorer. Following today’s earlier announcement of Firefox staring development, Google has also announced that it’s working on a version of Chrome that runs on the Metro UI of Windows 8. Surprisingly, the Metro UI Chrome won’t be based on the recently released Android version of the web browser. Instead, it will be based on the desktop version with enhanced touch support.

It’s a bit too early to tell what the Metro UI version of Chrome is going to be like but we should expect the usual Chrome features – speedy browsing, automatic syncing with your Google account and extensions. Perhaps even the Chrome Web Store? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
