Tabber guitar sleeve will teach you to play the guitar

Ever wanted to learn the guitar but couldn’t really be bothered with music theory, chords, scales and etc? Well if you just want to learn how to play a song but you don’t want to be burdened with chords or tablature, then perhaps this Kickstarter project by Robert Sanchez might be worth funding. Dubbed Tabber, it essentially adds a thin sleeves onto the neck of your guitar that lights up the frets and strings that you need to play in order play a song or a scale.

Connected to an Arduino Uno processor, Tabber will be powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery and will utilize Bluetooth technology paired with your mobile device to help light up the different frets accordingly. Tabber also plans to come with an accompanying app that allows the user to select songs to be played on the guitar, chords, scales and even lessons for those who wish to go beyond just playing the guitar.

Granted you will definitely need more than Tabber if you were hoping to become the next Slash or Eddie Van Halen, but if you’re interested in learning more about Tabber or pledging a donation, head on down to its Kickstarter page.
