Floppy drives are amazing things, not only can they read the data stored on our floppy disks (back in the day), it seems that they have found a new lease on life as potential musical instruments! From what we’ve seen so far, users have managed to recreate the James Bond theme using floppy drives, and now it looks like YouTube user, Mr.SolidSnake745 has managed to recreate the Game of Thrones theme using floppy drives as well! Using MIDI to map out the song, the arrangement has been stripped down, presumably due to the floppy drives being unable to play the more subtle bits of the song, but all in all it’s still a pretty impressive effort and it does sound pretty good, although we doubt that it will be winning Grammy awards any time soon. In any case check out the video above to see the floppy disks in action!
