Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition

Earlier today we noticed a countdown on the Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition website hinting about more details of the game being revealed. Well, the countdown is finally over and the website delivered its promise. We now have more information about the game that should please those of you looking forward to it. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be released on September 18th (mark your calendars everybody!) and will feature new content in addition to the original game that has been remade.

The PC and Mac versions of the game will feature three new playable sidekicks- a half-Orc Blackguard Dorn, half-elf Wild Mage Neera, and a human monk named Rasaad. It will also have a new dungeon called The Black Pits, set within the Underdark and consists of fifteen levels of arena-style battles. The iPad version will have the same game (The Black Pits included) with a new interface designed for tablets, but with the additional characters sold separately as DLC. Additional voice sets and portraits will also be downloadable for the tablet.

For those of you on Android devices fret not – it will be making its way over as well, though a deadline hasn’t been announced. Cross-platform multiplayer will be available, so that’s something to look forward to. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will cost $20 for Windows and Mac, and $10 on the iPad. Head over to the official website if you’d like to pre-order the game today.
