Personally I’d take a desktop over a laptop for gaming any day, but there are those who are constantly on the move and require the mobility, and for those gamers custom computer gaming manufacturer, CyberPower PC has debuted a new gaming laptop dubbed the Fang Taipan, a device which the company is proudly boasting to be the “most powerful customizable dual Nvidia GPU gaming laptop.” Whether it lives up to that claim remains to be seen, although with a base price of $1,819, we certainly hope that it will be able to deliver as it promises.

So what sort of specs are we looking at here? Well for starters, one of its highlights is its dual SLI GPU setup which uses two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680Ms in SLI mode. It will be powered by Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs that users can choose from, which includes the rather speedy i7-3940XM 3.0GHz Extreme Edition Ivy Bridge Mobile Processor, support for up to 32GB of dual-channel DDR3 RAM, two detachable SATA-3 hard drives with hardware RAID 0/1 support, an illuminated keyboard where the colors can be changed depending on preference, an a 17.3” 16:9 LED-backlit 1080p display with an Onkyo sound system that features a built-in subwoofer. More details and the different configurations can be found at CyberPower PC’s website, where you can also place your order and expect it to ship on the 26th of October.
