Customizable Motorola X Phone Possibly Hinted In Google+ Post By Guy Kawasaki

About a week ago we reported on a rumor that the Motorola X Phone could actually be referring to a series of devices, as opposed to a single one. However the more interesting part of that rumor was that the X Phone could be the first customizable Android device, meaning that users will be able to customize certain aspects of its hardware and have it shipped to them. We’re not sure what this means yet or how true that is, but former Apple evangelist, Guy Kawasaki, has posted on his Google+ a rather interesting question, “Wouldn’t it be great if you could personalize your phone like this?” with a link taking users to a YouTube video of car maker Porsche talking about the customization of cars.

While it could very well be an innocuous question, the fact the Kawasaki now works for Motorola has turned this simple question into more of a hint, even a tease. Kawasaki works with Motorola as an advisor on product design, UI and social media, so we wouldn’t be surprised if he had access or input regarding the rumored device. While Google has yet to make a formal announcement, many are expecting this rumored X Phone(s) to make an appearance at Google I/O so we’ll definitely be watching for that during the event in May.
