HTC Logo On The HTC One Said To Be Hackable, Can Be Turned Into A Customized Button

I wasn’t sure if it was just me, but I thought that HTC could have placed their logo on the HTC One a little bit better. After all the home button is usually at the center-bottom, not to the side, but we guess HTC had their reasons. Now to the untrained eye, the HTC logo appears to be just that, a logo, but according to the Android dev community, it seems that the HTC logo on the front of the HTC One is actually a capacitive button, meaning that with the right tools, it can be hacked to perform certain actions!

This is definitely not by choice, at least not on HTC’s part, but as luck would have it, the logo lies on a touch sensitive area that the back and home buttons lie on. Combine that with some kernel modding, you will be able to turn that HTC logo into a recent apps button, or even a menu button if you choose. We’re not sure if anyone has found a way to make use of it yet, but if you’re interested to see if it actually works, you can check out the discussion taking place in the XDA Developers forum.
