call-of-duty-black-ops-2-vengeance

It was just last week when Activision and Treyarch released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 trailer starring The Replacers, although the video served as more of an introduction to its latest piece of downloadable content, called Vengeance. Now Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Vengeance is upon Xbox 360 players as the latest piece of DLC is now available to spend your entire holiday weekend playing.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Vengeance is Treyarch’s third piece of downloadable content for the game and features for new and diverse multiplayer maps that are said to challenge “even the most seasoned players.” The four maps included in Vengeance are Cove, Detour, Rush and Uplink. You can find descriptions for each map below:

  • “Cove,” – The stage is set for all-out conflict on this small, forgotten island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, with players battling it out amongst the wreckage of a jet that crash-landed during a smuggling operation gone wrong.
  • “Detour,” – The action plays out atop a destroyed suspension bridge, high above an East Coast waterway, packed with scattered vehicles, exposed iron and collapsed pavement enables head-to-head action playing out on multiple levels.
  • “Rush,” – Prepare for fast, close-quarters engagements in this paintball course turned full-combat arena, giving players new opportunities and challenges to use the cover to their advantage.
  • “Uplink,”- In this re-imagined adaptation of the fan-favorite multiplayer map “Summit” from the original Call of Duty®: Black Ops, players clash deep in the rain-soaked jungles of Myanmar, high atop a hi-tech mountain facility.

A new Black Ops 2 DLC pack wouldn’t feel right if there wasn’t a new Zombies map, which is why Vengeance comes with an all new map called “Buried.” Buried has players meeting up with both old characters and new as they take on waves of the undead in an abandoned underground Old West mining town. The Buried Zombies map will also come with an all new powerful weapon, called the Ray Gun Mark II, which will also be available in previously released Zombies maps.
