Moto X To Have 4.5 Inch Display, Rear Shell Made Of Kevlar

Motorola has stirred up quite some hype for its new smartphone, the Moto X. The company has officially confirmed that it will be unveiling the device on August 1st, at an event in New York. Many rumors have circulated online regarding the specifications of the Moto X. The Verge claims to have heard from someone who has used the CDMA variant of Moto X first hand. The source tells them that the display is going to be around 4.5 inches, and that the rear shell of the device is made of kevlar.

The source also says that the Moto X is powered by a 1.7GHz Snapdragon MSM8960T dualcore processor aided by 2GB of RAM. The juice for all this is said to be provided by a 2,200 mAh battery. The device is said to run on a “near stock” version of Android 4.2.2, though its unclear right now if this will become the first device to ship with Android 4.3. As previously rumored, the Moto X will support always-on voice commands, a feature that the user will have to manually enable. Confirming what we have already seen in Roger’s leaked tech demo of the Moto X, the device will show users a summary of their notifications after it has been sitting idle for a while. All four major U.S. carriers are expected to offer the Moto X.
