Research In Motion Officially Renamed To Blackberry, As Per Shareholder Vote

604x178xNewBlackBerry.jpg.pagespeed.ic.yLN3NRVpdiEarlier this year when Blackberry announced Blackberry 10 and the Z10 smartphone, the company also announced that they would be changing their name from Research In Motion (RIM) to Blackberry. While they have been referred to as Blackberry ever since, it seems that the change in name was not 100% official as it required a vote from the company’s shareholders in order for it to be officially changed. Well the good news is that the vote has gone through in the recent shareholder meeting and with 99% approval, Research In Motion Limited is now officially known as Blackberry Limited! We expect many of you guys have probably gotten used to calling the company Blackberry since the start of this year, but for those who are sticklers for all things official, well it looks like you got your wish!
