Moto G Makes A Brief Appearance On Motorola’s Website

moto_g_motorola1-650x448Word on the street has it that Motorola has a lower-cost version of the Moto X in the works. The handset was previously known as the Motorola DVX, but recent rumors have suggested that the handset will be officially known as the Moto G. Well according to a screenshot grabbed by the folks at Droid-Life, it looks like the handset’s name has been made official, thanks to a sighting on Motorola’s website where you can see in the image above, the name Moto G has made a brief appearance. The name has since been taken down but even when it was active, the link to whatever page it was going to lead us to did not work, but it would seem to suggest that at the very least Motorola could be planning its launch.

According to the rumors, the upcoming Moto G will feature a 4.5” LCD display that will be powered by Motorola’s X8 Computer System. It will also allegedly come with dual-SIM capabilities and is said to cost anywhere between $200-$250 off-contract, definitely making it a lot more affordable than its higher-end Moto X handset. In any case these are hardly the official specs, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully Motorola will be making an announcement in the near future, so stay tuned for more updates!
