Motorola seems to be going back and forth between its smartphone strategy. For a while, the company kind of gave up on flagship devices and chose to focus on its low-end and mid-range phones. Then earlier this year, the company launched a flagship handset in the form of the Moto Edge Plus.
A couple of months ago, Amazon launched the “Prime exclusive” smartphone program through which it’s allowing Prime members to purchase mid-range handsets unlocked and off-contract as long as they are willing to put up with advertisements on the lock screen. Amazon selects the devices that are included in this program and today it has added the Moto G Play to the list.
Amazon is often the best place to purchase unlocked smartphones and the company certainly knows that so it’s using that to its advantage. It has launched a new program through which it’s going to sell you subsidized unlocked smartphones as long as you agree to look at advertisements and bear bloatware on your handset. This exclusive pricing for unlocked smartphones will only be available for Amazon Prime members.

You know what they say – better late than never. Having said that, while not many handsets have picked up the Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system just yet, it is a privilege to hear that the recently unveiled Moto G Turbo Edition from Motorola (in November last year, in fact) has already received its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, now how about that for efficiency?
Last week when Lenovo’s head of mobile Chen Xudong revealed that the Motorola brand would be phased out, there were some hints of what the future could look like for Moto-branded handsets, namely how they will sport fingerprint sensors and how the company will focus on phones larger than 5-inches.There was also talks about how Lenovo was planning on killing off the lower-end phones like the Moto G and Moto […]
Verizon isn’t really known for its speed when it comes to sending out software updates for Android devices, like other carriers, it too holds up software updates for a while before rolling them out to end users. Those who own the original Moto G on Verizon have a new update to look forward to today as Big Red is finally sending out Android 5.1 Lollipop for this device.
Customers on Republic Wireless will soon be able to purchase a pretty robust mid-range device that has proven its worth over the past couple of years. Word on the street has it that the next generation of the Motorola Moto G might actually be introduced as early as next month, now how about that for fans of the handset that had pleased its fair share of people in the past? If the report that brought about this piece of news is true, then the third generation Motorola Moto G would certainly be a hot ticket item. […]
Motorola was one of the few OEMs that were quick to release the Lollipop update at least for recent models soon after Google pushed out the new software late last year. Folks who own the original Moto G have had to wait for a considerable amount of time though. The handset is nearly two years old now but still supports Lollipop. Today Motorola has finally started rolling out Lollipop for […]

The Moto G Google Play Edition was launched early last year and it seems that it was good for only a year as it was discontinued early this year. Now if you were worried that support for the handset would end once it had been discontinued, fret not because it looks like it won’t. According to a handful of reports from users of the device, it seems that Google has […]
It was never denied that the first-generation Moto G isn’t going to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, the company just didn’t say when we can expect this update to arrive on the smartphone.
