Amazon announced its Kindle Fire HDX back in late September, which would be made available in two different sizes: a 7-inch tablet and an 8.9-inch tablet. Earlier last week, Amazon started shipping out the 7-inch version of the Kindle Fire HDX, and today, those who have been eyeing the 8.9-inch version is now shipping. This means you can have the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX in your hands very, very soon.
Both the 7-inch and 8.9-inch version of the Kindle Fire HDX shares the same ground-breaking hardware along with their latest version of Fire OS 3.0 “Mojito.” Both feature a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor as well as a Mayday button that allows its users to tap into Amazon’s live tech support that will allow an Amazon expert to assist you remotely if you can’t figure something out.
The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX, of course, has a larger display than the 7-inch version as it’s able to pump out 339 PPI, while the 7-inch version still offers an impressive 323 PPI. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX is also being touted as the lightest tablet of its size as it weighs a total of 13.2 ounces. which is well under 1 lb.
The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 retails for $379 and should be arriving to your doorstep very soon if you get your orders in.
