Download Instagram For Windows Phone Finally

After endless speculation about the possibility of a native app for Windows Phone, Instagram has finally been released for Microsoft’s mobile operating system, albeit in beta. As previously reported, the app is missing a number of crucial features such as the ability to record and upload video, view maps from geotagged photos or even take in-app images. Despite the missing features, quite a lot of users will be glad that they can finally download Instagram for Windows Phone, though keep in mind that the app now supports Windows Phone 8 devices, legacy WP owners are out of luck.

There’s a button in the app which when tapped redirects to the native camera app, users will have to take pictures through the native app which are then returned to Instagram where the user can add filters, captions and instantly share them across various social networks. Instagram has said that its aim was to get the app out as soon as possible, that’s why a few crucial features are missing at this point in time. It does say that these features are going to be added in future updates, though it doesn’t say when we can expect the first major update to arrive. Though given the fact that a beta version of the app has been released, in an ideal world it shouldn’t take too long for additional features to be added. You can download the beta Instagram for Windows Phone 8 free from the Windows Store.
