Motorola is believed to be working on a low-cost variant of its flagship smartphone, the Moto X. The company is yet to confirm anything about this device as yet, but it is believed to be called Moto G. The moniker’s trademark already belongs to Motorola, and only recently the Moto G made a brief appearance on the company’s website, thus solidifying belief that a low-cost Moto X variant is indeed on the way. Purported Moto G specifications have been leaked online courtesy of what apparently is a retail promo card.

The card suggests that Moto G will have a 720p 4.5 inch Gorilla Glass display with 329 pixels-per-inch, a 1.3 megapixel front and a 5 megapixel rear camera capable of recording 720p video, 8GB of onboard storage and a host of connectivity options such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and HSPA+. It apparently boasts a 1.2GHz quadcore processor from Qualcomm under the hood, contradicting a leak from the usually reliable @evleaks, who claims that the Moto G will have a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, also from Qualcomm. No word on price and availability as yet, it hasn’t been rumored when Motorola plans to finally unveil the device. From its brief appearance on the website earlier this week, it has already been confirmed that the Moto G customers will have the luxury of putting their own touches to their units through Moto Maker.
