Mac Pro Shipping Estimates From U.S. Online Apple Store Slip Into March

Apple teased the new Mac Pro early on in 2013 and then kept us waiting for it until the end of December. The completely revamped late 2013 Mac Pro started shipping to anxious customers in the very last days of December, but at least Apple met its timeframe of getting the computer out before the end of the year. It seems that either this new Mac Pro is heavily in demand or perhaps Apple is having difficulties in producing enough units to fill the gap between supply and demand. After shipping times on the online store slipped to March outside the U.S., the same has happened on the U.S. online Apple store as well.

Shortly after it became available online last month, shipping estimates quickly slipped into February. Ordering a unit online from the U.S. Apple store right now means having to wait until March, that’s the estimate the store is giving at this point in time. Thus the U.S. joins a number of countries in various regions, including Europe, Asia and the Middle East, where customers have to wait for quite some time before they can get their hands on a brand new Mac Pro. It remains to be seen if Apple is able to produce enough units in the meantime to rope the shipping estimates back in.
