Samsung Galaxy S5 Will Not Have Magnetic Resonance Wireless Charging [Rumor]

Back in 2013, it was reported that Samsung could turn to magnetic resonance for wireless charging and that feature could make its way into future Samsung products. This is also a similar piece of technology that was patented by Apple a while back and what makes this pretty cool is that it does not require the device to actually come into contact with the wireless charging pad. Instead phones will just need to be placed nearby in order to begin charging. Now the bad news is that if you were hoping that this technology would make its way into the Samsung Galaxy S5, you’d be out of luck. According to reports from the Korean media, such technology will not be making its way into the Galaxy S5 as Samsung does not believe that it will be a marketable feature.

As it stands, the technology is available and implementing it into the Galaxy S5 will not be an issue, at least that’s what the reports claim. However Samsung apparently does not believe that such a feature is marketable and they’re not sure if customers are willing to pay a bit extra to own such a piece of technology. In a way it is understandable given that wireless charging is seen more as a novel feature rather than an essential one, but at the same time it’s wireless charging via magnetic resonance that truly makes it “wireless”, which in turn would help its case.
