The World of Warcraft movie is not pegged for release for another two years where it will supposedly see a release on the 11th of March 2016. We say supposedly because while the date has been set by the officials themselves, two years is a pretty long wait and anything could happen from now until then.

Recently the folks at CVG have managed to sit down with actor, Dominic Cooper who has been confirmed to be one of the actors in the World of Warcraft movie, where he spoke about the pressures of acting for a movie based on a franchise as big as World of Warcraft.

According to Cooper, “That’s scary, because that’s a very specific world, so that really does have people who exist in that world and probably live more of their life in that world than they do in the real world, which is terrifying in itself.”

Cooper later adds, “But what that means is there have been people creating that world for many years and it’s got a very specific look, and the characters within that, people have already made their minds up about who they are and what they mean to them. So that’s quite a lot of pressure, in that you feel obligated to give the people who have spent the majority of their life playing it what they expect for it.”

If anything it does sound like Cooper has his work cutout for him. However given that the World of Warcraft movie will be based more on the original Warcraft RTS game rather than the newer titles, like Wrath of the Lich King, we guess unless you’ve been playing the Warcraft franchise since its inception, the story will be somewhat new to you and your expectations have yet to be formed.

Regardless Cooper has a point that a franchise as established as Warcraft definitely adds to the pressure, but given that he will also be starring in another video game movie, Need For Speed, moviegoers will be able to judge his acting chops and if it is any indication of what we might expect in the future.
