BlackBerry Windermere Concept Case Renders Surface

Blackberry-Q30-case-700x446We have been hearing rumors about a certain BlackBerry Windermere handset in the past. The handset was leaked not too long ago but whether or not the device was real, or whether it was a prototype, and more importantly whether it will be made into an actual product remains to be seen, but in the meantime it has not stopped case manufacturers from creating mockups and preparing themselves to launch cases for the device in the event that it is released.

The case renders were obtained by the folks at BlackBerries.ru and shows off the rather square-ish handset packed into gel cases that has been designed for it. We have to say that we’re not really digging this look, not to mention the leaked design of the Windermere might not even be the final product as there is a possibility that it could have been a prototype. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll learn more about the handset in the near future.

For those who might have missed our coverage, the BlackBerry Windere is an alleged BlackBerry handset in the works. The device is pretty unique in terms of its design and its features. Based on what we have heard and seen, it will pack a display with a 1:1 aspect ratio which is a pretty interesting choice. It will also feature a QWERTY keyboard that can apparently support gestures as well. This is based on rumors as well as patents that BlackBerry has filed.

There’s no telling if BlackBerry will be launching the Windermere, but BlackBerry’s CEO has promised that apart from the BlackBerry Z3 and BlackBerry Q20, the company has more high-end handsets that we can look forward to in the next 18 months, so there is a small chance that the Windermere could be part of that lineup.
