HTC Desire 816 Hits Europe

htc-desire-816__001The HTC Desire 816 that was first announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year did experience a fair number of pre-orders in China, and it has also arrived in select Asian markets last month. Well, for those of us living across the pond (that is, Europe), there might be hope for you just yet. Apparently, the HTC Desire 816 has appeared on a Romanian website, and one can make the (generally safe) assumption that after that, customers in different European countries ought to be able to pick one up in due time as well. The unlocked HTC Desire 816 is going for $405 (after conversion from 1,299 RON) in Romania, where it will feature dual SIM capability.

Just to recap, the HTC Desire 816 will target the mid-range smartphone market, where its 6.17” x 3.10” x 0.31” chassis will hold a 5.5” 720p display, a quad-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, a 13MP shooter at the back with a 5MP front-facing camera, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, a 2,600mAh battery, with all of it running on Android 4.4 KitKat.

It has been touted that the HTC Desire 816 will eventually arrive in the US as well as the UK, with May being the earliest date of availability. For those of us living Stateside, there has been rumored of AT&T being the mobile carrier of choice for the HTC Desire 816, where only time will tell.
