Man Puts A Hammer To The Galaxy S5, Gets A Nasty Surprise

YouTube Poster

Whenever a new handset has been released, many take to YouTube to find out all they can about it. Then there are also those who take advantage of the product’s popularity to create videos based around it, whether it be drop tests, scratch tests, waterproof tests, bulletproof tests, and so on.

One particular YouTuber decided to perform a hammer test on the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S5 where presumably the goal was to see how durable the Galaxy S5 is when faced with the might of a hammer. The results are somewhat predictable but then again it’s not everyday we run the risk of getting our phones hammered, right?

What was unexpected was when the YouTuber flipped his phone over and started hammering onto the back of the phone, popping open the battery case where he proceeded to land a hit or two directly on the battery itself. As you can see in the video above, the battery swells up like a balloon before releasing a cloud of what can only be assumed is toxic gas while hilariously spinning around like a deflated balloon.

We’re not sure if this was the smartest thing for the person in the video to have done, and we’re not sure what are the potential health hazards he might be facing from breathing in the gas (he’s lucky the battery didn’t explode), but either way it makes for a humorous video on how to not conduct durability tests.
