Shoptagr: Tag Now and Shop Later for Less

DashboardShoptagr allows fashion aficionadas and aficionados to never miss a sale, ever. This new web application allows users to tag their favorite clothes on ecommerce sites and select a preferred price, when the item is available at a matching discount, then they receive an alert via email and/or sms.

According to co-founders Jonathan  Friedman and Ronen Yuval-Hoch “Retailers use special pricing software that results in prices changing more often than consumers can keep track of, leading to many  missed  shopping opportunities.  Online sales shopping can be really frustrating. Shoptagr should be the answer to those problems.”

Fashion ecommerce is booming and according to this report from Hamburg-based secondary market research company yStats.com, clothing is the number one product purchased in B2C e-commerce. That is probably why Shoptagr launched today with fashion and clothing partner sites such as Asos, Bloomingdales, Shopbop, Zalando, Nordstrom, Net-A- Porter and many others.

I tried briefly the site (desktop) to see how the tagging process works and I can say that it is pretty straight forward: you just have to install the Tag button in your browser bar and whenever you see an item you like on a partner site, you click once on the button to tag it. Then, you can select the size and the type of alerts you would like to receive in your email, and the type of price change you need to know:  any price change or a 25% discount. You can categorize the items you tag is diffeent lists. (see screen shots above and below)

Shoptgr is targeting the European market first because, according to the company, the ecommerce market in the UK, France and Germany alone worth about €190 billion. A mobile version is on the work.
