BlackBerry Z10 Might Be Discontinued In July [Rumor]

BlackBerry-z10-22The BlackBerry Z10 was announced and released last year, meaning that the handset is less than two years old. However in a new rumor, it has been suggested that BlackBerry could soon be marking the BlackBerry Z10 with an end-of-life status. What this means, for those unfamiliar, is that the Canadian could be thinking about ceasing production of the BlackBerry Z10 once and for all.

The rumor also claims that production will officially cease on the 10th of July, after which the only BlackBerry Z10 units left will be the ones in the shop, and if your retailer has run out of stock, it seems unlikely that they will or are able to restock the device. Now we have no way of verifying if any of this is true or accurate, so do take it with a grain of salt for now. BlackBerry has yet to comment on the rumors.

Now we’re not sure why BlackBerry would want to cancel its original BlackBerry 10 smartphone less than two years after its release. Heck, even Apple is continuing to sell its iPhone 4S even if the device is three years old, so it does seem odd that BlackBerry would pull the plug so prematurely. Perhaps the rumors are wrong, or perhaps BlackBerry has their own reasons which we’re not privy to, but what do you guys think?
