When it comes to arcade-style fighting games, Mortal Kombat is probably one of the staples that is still extremely popular even until today. We’re guessing that the gruesome fatalities have something to do with it. That being said, like all fighting games, there are some characters that absolutely have to be included in the game.

With the previous Mortal Kombat X trailer, we saw staples such as Sub-Zero and Scorpion fight each other, and now thanks to a new video released by NetherRealm Studios, the gameplay footage of Raiden has been revealed. Raiden, just like Sub-Zero and Scorpion, is a staple in the Mortal Kombat universe, so excluding him from the game would be very unlikely and would no doubt upset fans.

If you’re looking forward to playing Mortal Kombat X, then you will want to check out the trailer video to see Raiden in action, and be sure to stay until the end where you will be able to witness Raiden’s fatality, which just like all the other fatalities, is a sight to behold.

Mortal Kombat X has been pegged for a release possibly in 2015 and will be making its way onto next-gen consoles like the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. The game will be introducing several new characters and new graphics, so if you’re a fan of the franchise, then Mortal Kombat X will definitely be worth taking a look at. In any case if you have a few minutes to spare, check out the gameplay footage in the video above.
