If you’re looking for more skins to play with in Mortal Kombat X, but you don’t want to shell out money for the paid DLCs, you might be pleased to learn that the folks at NetherRealm Studios will be giving a bunch of skins away for free this coming March. This was confirmed by a tweet from the studio.
However these skins will not be from the paid DLCs. They will be completely brand new skins of the medieval variety, as you can see in the models above. It also seems that not all characters will be on the receiving end of the skins as only Kotal Kahn, Kung Jin, and Ferra & Torr will be getting them. We’re not sure if there are plans to add skins for more characters later, but for now this is what we’ve got.
Note that the skins are also only available for gamers who bought the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the game. This is actually a bit worrying and disturbing for PC gamers. A report from last month suggested that support for the PC version of the game could be coming to an end. Apparently this is due to the fact that the PC version of the game has been extremely buggy with no fix in sight.
The fact that the developers are releasing content that seems to be targeting just the consoles only seems to solidify that theory. In any case NetherRealm has yet to official comment on this but in any case, PS4 and Xbox One gamers can look forward to these new and free skins on the 1st of March.
