mortal-kombat-xA couple of days ago, NetherRealm Studios officially unveiled their next game, Mortal Kombat X. The game, based on what we saw in the trailer, appeared to be stunning and incorporated a lot of gruesome attacks, such as the x-ray vision feature that lets you see which bones you’re breaking, and pretty nasty fatalities.

Now the Mortal Kombat franchise is one known to many gamers, given how far back it goes, so there are certain expectations when it comes to characters being introduced to the game. We expect we can look forward to the usual roster of Mortal Kombat characters, but according to a tweet by Ed Boon, it seems that we can look forward to two new characters.

These two new characters will be introduced in Mortal Kombat X and will debut at E3 2014. Now we’re not sure which characters Ed Boon is talking about, but some have speculated at Belokk could be one of them. The character was originally planned for a release with Mortal Kombat Gold but did not make the cut, because apparently the studio did not have enough time to complete the character.

What that means is that unless NetherRealm has scrapped the character entirely, Belokk is a good candidate. Other possible characters include Hornbuckle, the character fighting Blaze in the background in The Pit II stage in Mortal Kombat II, and Tremor, another ninja which appeared in Mortal Kombat 9 for the PS Vita as a playable character during the bonus challenge towers, but what do you guys think? Could it be any of these three characters, or will NetherRealm surprise us with completely new characters instead?
