BlackBerry Passport Pre-Registration Kicks Off

BlackBerry’s new high-end device called the Passport is due to be released next month. Over the past few weeks the company has been offering information about the device’s features yet it hasn’t revealed everything, surely it must want to have some material to share at the launch event that takes place in London this September. BlackBerry Passport pre-registrations kicked off today nonetheless, allowing people interested in the device to sign up in order to receive all the latest information about it.

Do keep in mind that pre-registration is not pre-order. BlackBerry is currently letting folks sign up so that they can receive up to date information directly from the source, Passport’s pre-orders may begin after the device has been formally announced next month.

BlackBerry aims to challenge the status quo with the Passport, a device that has a square design. Its 4.5-inch display will boast the highest resolution yet in a BB device yet the company has kept many of the specifications close to its chest. Details about processor, RAM, internal memory and other components haven’t been shared.

There has been positive press about the device and there’s some hype as well given that it has some unique features, such as its full QWERTY keyboard which also doubles as a trackpad. BlackBerry’s very own Siri rival is also going to debut with the Passport. The device will primarily be geared towards business professionals, its launch will be followed by the Classic, which is aimed towards BlackBerry loyalists of days gone by.
