Apparently, the update was specially designed to fix a trio of different flaws, where among them include a font vulnerability error as well as another error in the Windows kernel, which happens to be the ‘heart’ of the operating system.
Thankfully, Microsoft was quick on the uptake, having recommended its users to deactivate the updates as users reported on how MS14-045 resulted in a Stop 0×50 error on several systems, with most of them hailing from a Windows 7 64-bit background. In the updated MS14-045′s Update FAQ, it was mentioned, “Microsoft is investigating behavior associated with the installation of this update and will update this bulletin when more information becomes available. Microsoft recommends that customers uninstall this update. As an added precaution, Microsoft has removed the download links to the 2982791 security update.”
