Authorities in the area has already called for emergency safety inspections which could eventually cause a snag when it comes to Foxconn production of the upcoming flagship iPhone. The huge dust explosion happened at a metal polishing factory in the Jiangsu province, where there were 75 fatalities recorded alongside hundreds of injuries. This has resulted in a nationwide production halt, where the relevant safety inspection routines are required to run – which might carry with it a very high chance of affecting Foxconn’s output.
The national work safety authority has also sent out dust experts in order to carry out investigations, all the while asking every single polishing workshop to cease production while performing a self-inspection where production safety is concerned. The iPhone 6 does not look to be the only device that could be possibly affected, as the Xiaomi 4 and Meizu MX4, too, will be affected.
