In fact, LG has already filed a patent application for the LG G4 name over in South Korea, never mind the fact that the LG G3 was just released earlier this year with its vaunted UX user interface (that will eventually arrive on all other lower end LG devices, too). Apart from that, LG decided to go all out and ensure that no one else will be able to, legally at least, come up with an LG G5, LG G6, LG G7, LG G8, all the way through to the LG G9, until the year 2020.
It looks rather obvious that LG will no longer work on rebranding its flagship smartphone anytime soon, not at least in the coming six years. After all, if it ain’t broke, why fix it, right?
