OneNote Co-Authoring Feature Improved

Microsoft today released an update for OneNote, a tool that’s increasingly becoming popular for taking notes, tracking work items and more. Over the past few months we have seen Microsoft contribute a lot of time and resources towards this product, it even pushed OneNote on additional platforms with more features. Today’s update brings improvements for the co-authoring experience for those who use the online version of OneNote.

People Presence is a new feature that has been added to OneNote Online. It helps users see everyone who is working on one particular OneNote page and anyone who might be in the same notebook as them simultaneously.

What’s important to note here is that it doesn’t matter what client all the different users are using to access OneNote. So anyone with OneNote on mobile or tablet accessing a notebook will be displayed to someone who is in the same notebook using OneNote Online, therefore making connection and collaboration much more seamless.

Syncing has been improved as well. Microsoft ensures that edits will now be pushed “nearly in real-time,” which would help those who are collaborating together to stay on the same page.

Microsoft promises that it will continue to add new features to OneNote Online to improve the overall user experience.
