Both New iPhones Will Be Released On September 19th

A report published today contradicts most of the rumors that we have heard up till now about the iPhone 6 release date. It is believed that Apple will unveil a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 6 tomorrow, however the latter was rumored to ship later this fall, whereas the former was said to hit shelves on September 19th. The report claims that Apple will release both iPhone 6 models on the same day.

The report comes from iGen.fr, a French site, which claims to have heard this from a source that has accurately predicted release dates for Apple products in the past. It says that the two iPhone 6 models will be available for purchase starting September 19th, roughly ten days after they’re unveiled in Cupertino.

It further claims that while the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be available in ample quantity come release day, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will be available in limited quantity, probably because production has been slowed down by all those rumored issues.

It is worth pointing out here that these reports usually circulate when Apple is launching two or more products side by side, at least one is rumored to be plagued by production issues resulting in a delay in shipments. Apple has not officially confirmed when the new iPhones will hit the market and we can only expect a confirmation at the event tomorrow.

We reported earlier this week that lines have already started forming outside Apple retail stores for the iPhone 6. Those diehard fans still have a fortnight to bear out on the sidewalk before they become the first people to walk out with what may be Apple’s greatest iPhone to date.
