GTA V For PC And Next-Gen Consoles Could Have First-Person Mode

gtav_details09122014_011The Grand Theft Auto franchise has largely been played as a third-person game. In fact even the early 2D iterations of the game only allowed gamers to play from a top-down perspective. However it seems that with the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto V for next-gen consoles and the PC, a first-person mode could be introduced.

This is according to a sighting by DrOversight who has provided a link to the Google cache page on Rockstar’s website. The page on Rockstar’s website has been edited since but according to the cache, it read that one of the new features gamers could expect was “A brand new first person mode for vehicles that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more.”

Now we’re not sure why Rockstar’s website has since been edited – perhaps the feature was not meant to be announced yet and was supposed to be a surprise, or it could also be that the first-person mode was written in error and that it was never a feature to begin with. It also seems like the PC version of the game will come with a video editor.

In any case try not to get your hopes up just yet, but we’ll definitely keep our eyes and ears peeled for more information. In the meantime gamers looking forward to the game can expect to see it released for next-gen consoles on the 18th of November while PC gamers will have to wait until 27th January 2015.
