Vuzix Smart Glasses Get Offline Nuance Voice Control

vuzix-nuanceVuzix is a name that I am quite sure many of us are familiar with now, where they happen to deliver a range of video eyewear as well as smart glasses, targeting the consumer, commercial and entertainment markets. Well, today marks the release of OS 2.0, which is the new generation of its software platform that will cater for the acclaimed Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses.

After listening to feedback from hundreds of developers as well as key customers, OS 2.0 does not come across as a regular facelift, but it is a total overhaul of the M100 Smart Glasses software. Starting from the kernel, all the way to basic user interfaces, new available services, a completely revamped partner device manager application, just about everything about the M100 Smart Glasses has seen an improvement thanks to OS 2.0.

Expect to enjoy “carousel synchronization” to a smartphone that runs the manager application, allowing it to support a handsfree headset, streaming audio, internet connectivity, voice and gesture control, among others. The integrated Nuance voice control will pave the way for voice recognition thanks to the built-in “voice help” which does not need an Internet connection.

Expect the M100 OS 2.0 to be made available for immediate release, where it will be included in future M100 shipments to boot. [Press Release]
