AKG Delivers Quincy Jones Inspired Headphones

Quincy-Jones-Inspired-HeadphonesHarman is back again with a bang, where they have just announced the AKG N90Q. Now, what would make the AKG N90Q stand out from the rest of the headphones that are out there in the market? Well, it happens to be the world’s first pair of headphones that will come with personalized sound, where it has been specially designed by legendary Grammy winner Quincy Jones.
Quincy Jones shared, “I have thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful partnership with HARMAN over the past five years, and I am very excited to add the AKG N90Q to my signature line of headphones. There are only 12 notes, and no matter what genre of music you are enjoying, whether it’s Jazz, R&B, Pop, Rock or Classical, I believe the enhanced experience provided by the AKG N90Q will offer the listener such exact sound and customization that you will believe you are in a professional recording studio.”

Quincy’s daughter, Kidada Jones, herself being an established designer for Disney, was also pretty much involved in this particular project as she came about with the overall aesthetics, not to mention selection of key materials in order to give the end user a premium look and feel, and ultimately, to exceed legendary Jones’ expectations himself.

The AKG N90Q comes with TruNote technology that is capable of reproducing sound optimized to the user’s inner ear anatomy automatically and in a precise manner. Just how does TruNote technology work? It is made up of a new, proprietary software solution for auto-calibration and frequency response measurement, alongside a patented, dual-foam ear cushion and pistonic motion driver. This particular auto-calibration solution will make use of a pair of microphones located in each ear cup so that it can measure the frequency response as one wears the headphone. As a result, an accurate correction filter is generated within a second, where the dual-foam ear cushion and optimized pistonic motion driver will avoid unwanted reflections and cavity effects – resulting in optimal accurate sound reproduction.

The AKG N90Q auto-calibrating, noise-canceling headphones will hit the market later this summer, although pricing details have yet to be determined. It does not look as though it will come cheap though!
