blu-studio-energyEarlier this year when CES was the bee’s knees where consumer electronics news were concerned, it did not escape our attention that the BLU Studio Energy was announced – and the main reason that this particular device actually made the headlines was this – it came with a massive 5,000 mAh battery, now how about that? Of course, back in January, the handset had yet to be released, and hence it is with great pleasure for us to make the announcement that the BLU Studio Energy has now arrived at the US, and yes, it will come with the said 5,000 mAh battery in tow.

Is this massive capacity battery going to be more of a gimmick than anything else? Only time will be able to tell, but on paper, 5,000 mAh would be roughly the equivalent of 45 days of standby time, or 4 days of regular use, at least according to what the engineers over at BLU have calculated. For a smartphone to last beyond a couple of days in this day and age under regular use is phenomenal – unheard of, practically, although back in the days where featurephones and Nokia ruled the roost, it would be nuts if the handset could not last a single day – some of us even got up to 5 days’ worth of regular usage on a full battery charge.
