Galaxy S6 Expected To Bring Major Software Changes

Samsung is often criticized for making the software on its smartphones too heavy due to all the bloatware it includes, and even though some useful features are included in Samsung’s customizations, there are many users who push the company to go with much cleaner software. A report published today claims that Samsung will finally honor the wishes of those users and make major changes to the software that powers Galaxy S6.

Underneath Samsung’s custom skin the Galaxy S6 will be powered by Android, so there’s no change on that front. Sammobile reports that Samsung will remove many of its pre-installed apps, like S Voice, S Health and S Note, from the software and instead offer them to users through Galaxy Apps store.

Apparently the company will pre-install some applications provided by Microsoft because of its recent agreement with the company that ended their patent royalty dispute. OneNote, OneDrive, Office Mobile with free Office 365 subscription and Skype are all said to come pre-installed on the next flagship.

TouchWiz performance on Galaxy S6 is reportedly much faster than previous devices from the company, with Samsung adding more color to its apps, providing users with more theming options and allowing them to choose between 4×4, 4×5 and 5×5 icon layouts for the app drawer.

Samsung has confirmed its Mobile World Congress 2015 event for March 1st and it is there the company will finally unveil its new flagship device. It was rumored earlier today that the Galaxy S6 release date might be March 22nd.
