Samsung Galaxy S6’s 20MP Camera Details Surface [Rumor]

samsung-galaxy-s5-review-026If the Samsung Galaxy S6 rumored specs have any shred of truth to them, there is a good chance we could be looking at the handset coming equipped with a 20MP rear-facing camera, but if you’re curious about the camera because this might be a priority feature to you, the folks at SamMobile claim to have gotten their hands on more details about the handset’s shooter.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S6 will have a 20MP shooter on its back with the sensors made by Samsung themselves. It will also have the ability to capture images in 20MP (5952×3348), 15MP (4464×3348), 11MP (3344×3344), 8MP (3264×2448), 6MP (3264×1836) and 2.4MP (2048×1152) resolution. However as for its front-facing camera, it is expected to use the same model found in the Galaxy A-series.

Samsung is also rumored to take advantage of the Android 5.0 Lollipop APIs and bring a “Pro” mode to the camera’s software. What is the “Pro” mode, you ask? Basically it will allow users to choose between three different focus modes, one of which is a manual focus mode that brings manual controls to the software similar to the Manual camera app.

SamMobile’s sources has also tipped them off that the Gallery app will be more intuitive and easier to use, providing more information to the user at a glance which should save time on guesswork as to what some of the gallery’s functions do. Of course all of this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but with Samsung’s MWC event taking place in the next few weeks, we guess we won’t have to wait much longer to find out more.
