Ubisoft Clarifies Assassin’s Creed Golden Age Leaked Image

golden-age-black-flagSome of you guys might have seen an image making its rounds on the internet for an Assassin’s Creed Golden Age. There were some who got a little excited at the idea and possibility that Golden Age could be hinting at a new Assassin’s Creed game, however it turns out that Golden Age is a game that some of you already know and might even have played.

Ubisoft has recently come forward to clarify the Golden Age name and has stated that it is just the codename to Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. According to Ubisoft, “Before we officially announce a game to the world, we use a working title or code name to refer to a project internally. Assassin’s Creed Golden Age was the internal name given to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. It is not the name of any future Assassin’s Creed title.”

This year’s Assassin’s Creed is expected to be set in London and given a Victorian theme, which is actually rather exciting and a great idea and one that we wished Ubisoft had chosen earlier, but better late than never, right? As for future Assassin’s Creed titles, there has been some speculation that  2016’s Assassin’s Creed could take place in Japan.

This is based on pure speculation from fans, although this is something that Ubisoft has denied in the past, but who knows, perhaps the company changed its mind after seeing so much demand from their playerbase.
