Upgraded Touch ID Sensor Expected In The Next iPhone
It has only been a few months since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were released but already people are looking forward to what Apple will have to offer later this year. The company usually announces new smartphones in September so that’s when we’ll be looking out for the next iPhone. According to a well known Apple analyst the company is going to upgrade the Touch ID sensor on the next iPhone in order to provide an improved Apple Pay experience.
Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple analyst who requires no introduction, claims that a new Touch ID module will be used for 2015 iPhone models. This new module is said to offer a better and safer Apple Pay experience by reducing reading errors.
Recently there have been rumors that Apple may incorporate fingerprint scanning technology in the touchpanels, Kuo is of the view that for now this technology will remain consigned to the sensor that lives underneath the Home button on an iPhone.
Kuo predicts that companies in Apple’s supply chain will ramp up production for the new Touch ID module by the second quarter of this year.
This analyst has a relatively solid track record when it comes to Apple so the possibility exists that this really might be happening with the next iPhone.
